The Earth After Rebirth

Chapter 395 Condition to Stay

Continue your journey with empire

Hubris on the other hand sat on Kiro\'s right hand side. He was still big but lying down made him less intimidating. Kiro gestured for LJ to go sit on him.

But she was so scared that she chose the floor. She was a big fan of Kiro, especially Hubris but seemingly watching a video and meeting the real thing were too different.

The way the Waynworths accepted her grandfather and her, she felt like part of the family. So it hurt a little, seeing Kiro this angry at them for doing something good.

"It\'s only concern, don\'t mind him." Isla whispered to her.

She looked up startled but she calmed down seeing a familiar face. Even with all the pointy ears, nobody could mistake Isla for anything else.

"He\'s mean!" She pouted, "anyway, don\'t I have a choice in what to wear? I don\'t like dresses. If I knew they were gonna force me to wear this, I\'d have chosen a boy!"

Isla giggled. She was certain Asgard didn\'t allow something like, but she was sure that LJ could wear what she wanted.

"I\'ll take care of you later, for now let\'s watch the match."

The crowd burst out laughing when Loki took out his weapon. It was a great sword, too big for someone like him who chose the dwarf race. Those with a keen eye could see how sharp the thing was.

Despite that, it didn\'t seem like the sword was too much for him. His stance was also good, making use of his centre and legs so as to not drop it.

"I heard you\'re master\'s little brother, which would make you my little brother. So forgive me for beating you up." Lyle proclaimed.

Loki almost cringed.

In an instant he was in front of Lyle swinging his sword. It was clear that he didn\'t prioritise strength since his speed was as amazing.

Lyle was surprised for by a second, his staff guarded against the great sword. He was able to parry it, which sent Loki flying backwards.

He didn\'t have as much control over the blade as he pretended he did but more than anything Loki wanted to be a part of the line of defense for humans.

So he let the blade fall behind him, he propped himself up still holding the hilt and spun himself to meet the already coming Lyle. Both his feet landed on Lyle\'s stomach.

Loki landed on the floor and didn\'t waste any time, he ran forwards with his sword at the ready to strike.

Lyle however swerved to the left and in the same breath planted his foot on Loki\'s shoulders causing him to fall to his knees.

"I thought I could be friendly but it seems you have other plans, lil bro." He said smiling gracefully.

"Don\'t call me that!" Loki said through gritted teeth.

He held onto the leg that was weighing heavy on his shoulder with the hand that was free. The grip was monstrous, Lyle tried to wiggle out but he couldn\'t.

Loki swung the sword with his other hand, intending to fully decapitate the boy in front of him.

The great sword met with the staff again, stopping it on its tracks. Lyle knocked over the giant sword and hit Loki\'s other shoulder, dislocating it completely.

He wanted to scream, it was unbelievable that the pain felt so real. While they\'ve been in the game for quite some time, they only ever trained. They\'d never even ran a dungeon, they just relied on world monsters and bosses.

So this one on one was his first one and it showed. He was heavily inexperienced, fighting monsters was a different ball game. Players had their own minds, their moves were very unpredictable.

That\'s why he was having a much harder time. Lyle felt sorry for the kid, he heard Kiro tell him it would be over for him if he lost here. While he wanted to throw the fight, he couldn\'t blatantly refuse his master\'s words.

Loki tapped the stone floor to get away from the person who didn\'t seem to be that much older than him and that seemed to anger him even more.

He locked his shoulder back into place. The weapon was on the other side of the platform so he held up his fists. Lyle seemed to be travelling using a weaker version of blink the major difference being that he could be seen but he was fast nonetheless.

His staff was already raised when he reached Loki, he intended to cave his skull this time. But the inexperienced boy knew better than to block the oncoming attack, so he dodged.

The staff moved too close to his face, he could feel its power and anger. Like it warped the very fabric of space where he was looking.

That\'s also when Loki knew he was out of his element. He wasn\'t lying when he said he wanted to help out with creating armour, it was clear that the dwarf race wasn\'t too big on the offensive.

He hung his arms in the air, showing that he was forfeiting as Lyle closed in with a kick to the jaw. But Loki had his eyes closed thinking he would understand that he was throwing the fight.

And Lyle understood, the only problem was that, he couldn\'t stop himself. The attack was already in motion, at its speed, it was almost impossible to stop it at his level.

Loki\'s eyes only opened when Lyle\'s heel seemed to connect with his cheek. For a second, it felt like time itself stopped.

In that split second, his brother was standing there, holding Lyle\'s foot. He couldn\'t imagine what the kick would\'ve done to him when only its close proximity had that much pressure.

He sighed. Admitting his defeat, "fine, I\'ll leave."

"You can stay. On one condition you\'ll have to stay away from actual combat..."

Loki hadn\'t expected his change of heart so he didn\'t care much about the condition. He was just happy to be given a chance to be useful.

"Another thing, you\'ll train with me in combat everyday. Just in case." He looked to the platform, "all three of you."
