Chapter 486: 486 Exorbitant Endorsement_1
The moment the door swung open, Arvid Woody’s suspended heart finally settled.
All three were inside.
They were lying haphazardly, but the count was ultimately correct.
Neat and tidy, the three individuals.
“Something’s not right!”
The police officer furrowed his brows and carefully stepped inside.
Only after confirming there was no one else did he quickly approach the three bodies with his subordinates.
As the one who reported the crime, Arvid Woody naturally followed right behind them.
But when he saw the scene before him, he almost couldn’t help but vomit.
The three lay on the ground like hedgehogs, haphazardly sprawled out, all dead!
“This!”
Arvid Woody’s legs went weak, and he collapsed.
Fortunately, the officer behind him had quick reflexes and caught him!
“Are you certain it’s these three individuals?”
The officer’s brow creased as he surveyed the scene: “Seal off the area, no one is allowed in!”
By this time, Julius Reed had already left, and even fingerprints had been cleaned up.
The scene was completely devoid of any signs of a fourth person’s presence.
“Officer! This is… this is murder!”
Arvid Woody trembled, shaken to the core by the scene before him.
The people who had just called him, how could they suddenly be dead?
And their deaths were so ghastly!
Osby Michael’s eyes were full of blood, his body pierced with iron spikes, firmly clamped beside Houston Green.
Dimitri Leopold was lying on the ground, eyes wide open.
Two iron spikes were plunged into the position of his heart.
The people who were alive and well in the morning had now become cold corpses.
“You two take them away first, we need to work!”
The officer pulled out white gloves from his jacket and started to walk around the room.
Finally, he noticed a camera in the corner, which was still recording.
“We have a lead!”
He reached out and immediately signaled to his subordinates: “Check for any traces of others having been here!”
Soon, the forensic team arrived and began their survey of the scene.
When the officer saw the video of the three attacking each other, he couldn’t help but furrow his brows.
“How is it?”
“Report! No traces of a third person have been found!”
The officer reported after the survey had concluded.
“A bunch of psychopaths! The case can be closed now!”
He frowned at the view of several people stabbing each other.
Arvid Woody, who had been waiting outside for a long time, quickly gathered around the exiting officers: “How is it, Officer?”
“Suicide! Or rather, a collective suicide!”
The officer sighed and said to Arvid Woody, “Come to the station with me, but you’d better be mentally prepared.”
…
When Arvid Woody came out of the police station, he was a complete wreck.
His legs went weak, completely depending on his assistant to help him stand.
Just then, his phone suddenly rang.
“See who it is.”
Arvid Woody was gasping for air, still not having recovered from the shocking images.
His three subordinates had gone mad, frantically stabbing their companions!
What’s more crucial is that there were no traces of anyone else at the scene!
This ruled out homicide.
“General Whitaker, an unfamiliar number!”
The assistant took out Arvid Woody’s phone and saw that it was a number from Five-river Province, but it wasn’t saved in the contacts.
“Answer it!”
At this moment, he had to take the call.
“Is this Boss Whitaker?”
A man’s voice came through the phone.
“It is I, who may you be?”
Arvid Woody felt chilled to the bone, but he still found the voice familiar.
“Aron Jackson! Weren’t you just causing trouble at my place?”
Upon hearing that it was Aron Jackson, Arvid Woody immediately perked up.
“Mr. Jackson, it’s you! My folks were unlucky enough to have had an incident under your command, alas!”
Aron Jackson sighed, but the implication of blame was clear.
The man was already dead.
The death of the person had no more significance; ensuring that the concert would proceed without any issues was of paramount importance.
Otherwise, the loss of a large sum of money would mean the end of his role as deputy general manager.
“An accident?”
Aron Jackson sneered coldly, “Then take a look now, what’s on your right?”
“On my right?”
Arvid Woody turned his head and saw a large truck barreling toward him!
“Ah…”
He let out a scream!
If the truck hit him, he would undoubtedly die!
Screech!
At the critical moment, the truck came to a stop less than three meters from the two men.
“I hope you enjoy your time in Gonzalez City!”
Having said this, Aron Jackson hung up the phone.
Thump!
The assistant and Arvid Woody both collapsed to the ground.
…
“Have you heard? Quella Radcliffe seems to be interested in Nando Brandon, it is said that she’s already making her move!”
Within the Cook Family villa, the leading businessmen of Gonzalez City gathered, leisurely sipping tea with none of the tension that had preceded their bet.
This was a stark contrast to the anxious and tense atmosphere surrounding Quella Radcliffe’s side.
“What’s the rush! Here in Gonzalez City, we have both money and people, someone like Nando Brandon is no problem.”
“I suggest that we get Nando Brandon on our side first, and make Quella Radcliffe give up the opportunity right away!”
“Right! Let’s end this bet early, with the New Year approaching, the longer the night, the more dreams will haunt us!”
Hearing everyone’s suggestions, Bran Cook leaned back in his chair and nodded, “That’s what I think too. Nando Brandon’s concert is this afternoon, our people should head there first, and settle this matter before the concert begins. Better yet, lay a trap!”
“Sounds good, why don’t we leave right now?”
“Let’s go!”
They all left the Cook Family villa, laughing and joking on their way to the Valentine Hotel where the Enlighten Group was staying.
In Gonzalez City, none of these people’s actions could escape the Cook Family’s surveillance.
Even the room where Nando Brandon was staying was well-known to Bran Cook.
The fleet of cars quickly arrived at the Valentine’s Hotel.
Nando Brandon’s room was on the third floor, right next to the room where Arvid Woody and others were staying.
Bran Cook led his entourage upstairs with great fanfare, and upon giving his name, he directly entered Arvid Woody’s temporary office.
“Hello, nice to meet you!”
At the moment, Nando Brandon was discussing something with Arvid Woody. Seeing Bran Cook enter, Arvid Woody stood up with a pale face to greet him.
The name Bran Cook was one he had heard early on.
Influential, and with no small reputation in Gonzalez City.
“Mr. Cook, what brings you here?”
Arvid Woody took a sip of tea, his hand trembling as he held the cup.
But there was no other option, work had to continue.
If they stopped now, the loss would be enormous.
Having lost three agents, he was forced to take on much of the work.
“This gentleman here is Mr. Nando Brandon, right?”
Bran Cook glanced at the male artist sitting opposite Arvid Woody.
If one didn’t look closely, they might mistake him for a woman.
“Indeed, and who might you be?”
Nando Brandon asked arrogantly.
Being a top influencer now, he was like a walking hormone.
Wherever he went, no matter how expensive the tickets, they would sell out instantly.
So he had no regard for characters from such a trivial place.
Gonzalez City, after all, was just a small drop in the bucket.
“I’m Bran Cook, and I would like to invite Mr. Nando Brandon to be our spokesperson. As for the endorsement fee…”
Bran Cook said this while glancing at the businessmen who had accompanied him.
“Three hundred million!”
“How much?”
Even Nando Brandon was somewhat surprised!
This was an astronomical endorsement fee!
