Chapter 95 Blessing of the Fox Spirit, Demon Clan Level 5 City
[Unparalleled Mage: No new upgrades.]
[Assassin of Wrath: +10000 Strength.]
"Wow!"
Alex could barely contain his excitement.
A boost like that was incredible, and with the enhanced power, he felt almost invincible.
Then another notification chimed in his vision.
Ding!
[You have received the "Blessing of the Fox Spirit" effect (Passive)]
[The spirit that protects the fox tribe has appreciated your will to defend them – once per day, allows you to summon a shield that will tank an attack if you are on the verge of death.]
"Wow..." this was an incredible effect, and as it was a passive, Alex wouldn\'t have to think about it!
Maybe it would even surprise him sometimes.
In the end, it was an incredible reward.
[Extraction talent activated: +743 Strength, +648 Vitality, +419 Spirit, +326 Agility, x8 Demon Hammer (Epic), x3 Demon Spear (Epic)]
The demons hadn\'t dropped much beyond their weapons, but he saw potential in them.
He passed the gear to his grand skeletons, which would further bolster his forces.
His gaze settled on Grayar\'s lifeless, decapitated head.
With a smirk, Alex knelt down and touched the demon commander\'s head, feeling his extraction ability spark to life.
"Extraction..." he whispered, his palm glowing.
Ding!
[You have extracted "Map of the Demon Clan\'s Level 5 City".]
"Heh, I told you I would get it anyway," Alex laughed while staring down at Grayar\'s body, "Looks like I won it all in the end."
The map glowed briefly before vanishing and seeping into his [World Map].
Ping!
A new marker appeared, displaying [Level 5 Demon City] on it, a bit far from here.
"That\'ll be for later," he muttered, deciding that a full city raid could wait.
He was strong, but he wasn\'t ready to storm a demon metropolis alone.
Soon after, more notifications rolled in.
[You have slain x6,847 "Low-Level Clan Demons", gaining 8,128,000 experience points!]
[You have slain "Grayer, The Demon Commander", gaining 1,000,000 experience points!]
"What the-?" Alex was astonished by the amount of experience, weren\'t he and Alice supposed to share?
[Due to the party member\'s lack of action in the attack, they will only receive 10% of the experience.]
Alex felt bad for Alice, but if he got stronger, it also meant that she would be safer, a win-win situation!
Ding! Ding! Ding!
In addition to the experience he had stocked up from his level being locked, Alex leveled up many times from the experience of the demons.
[You have leveled up to level 101!]
[You have leveled up to level 102!]
.
.
[You have leveled up to level 109!]
[Level: 109 (463,151/1,350,000)]
It was a very good upgrade in terms of levels, especially for him, who could already fight level 300 armies.
He adjusted his attribute points quickly, then let out a long breath of relief.
It truly was over.
"Savior!"
"Alex!"
Alera, Alice and Lilith called out again, all beaming.
That sight alone was worth all the trouble he went through.
"Savior," Alera was the one to speak this time, pressing Alex\'s head against her massive chest, "If you wish me to do anything to help you, just ask, the fox tribe will do everything in their power to aid you."
Ding!
[Your reputation with the "Fox Tribe" has reached its maximum, they will now support you no matter what in the future.]
"Thanks," Alex nodded, "But I don\'t need anything much to be honest," he scratched his chin, "Just... maybe... if the effects of the curse gets worse, I\'ll need help with that..."
"Of course!" Alera blushed and nodded, "You can ask for my help with this any day," she winked, "And my daughter can even join us if she decides to stop watching in secret!"
"M-Mom?!" Lilith face turned bright red, "B-But," she faced Alex, "I think I feel confident enough to h-help with t-that..."
"Thank you," Alex was grateful to them both.
He wasn\'t sure about it, but as the [Undead King] grew stronger, it was possible the effects and perks of his curse would do too.
"Mphm," Alice pouted, "And me too!"
"Of course, I would never forget about you, Alice," Alex laughed.
Currently, monsters and people from inside of [Universal Descent] couldn\'t go in the real world, which is a bummer since he would have loved to live with Alera and Lilith.
It was fine for now, though.
Richard would probably wonder what the hell\'s happening if two fox girls started living in his villa after all.
"Oh, by the way, dear," Alera suddenly spoke right as Alex was about to log off, calling him with a very unfamiliar name.
"If you want, there\'s rumors about some sort of temple deep in the [Mystical Forest], maybe you could check it out if you want, though I\'m not sure..."
"Hm."
Alex knew of the [Mystical Forest].
And he had already heard of the [Mystical Temple], but he had never actually entered it since it wasn\'t required to go further, plus he had been too weak to do so previously.
The temple was the hardest area in the forest after all, not many people daring to enter, and once you\'ve reached a high enough level, you don\'t bother to come back to lower-level areas.
"I\'ll do that later, thanks Alera," Alex smacked her buttocks again, "I\'ll reward you later."
Alera\'s face turned red, "Yes, dear."
But the temple would have to wait as Alex had currently more things to do than just explore the [Mystical Forest] for it.
He would come back to it later as going through the forest would be required to advance further in [Universal Descent] though.
Until then, he needed to be careful of the additional beta tester spots that had opened, as they would reveal both more allies but also enemies.
Before leaving, Alex took the time to turn around and give a kiss to Alera, who returned it, "Make sure to train the others, as something similar may happen in the future."
"Yes, dear," Alera bowed, "Thank you."
"No problem."
[Do you want to leave "Universal Descent"?]
"Yes!"
Fwish!
Alex vanished in a flash of blue light while waving at the other fox girls, who finally left their homes, noticing that there wasn\'t any sound.
"Thank you, savior!"
"If you want, I\'ll spend a night with you!"
Alex couldn\'t answer as he was teleported.
...
Back in the real world.
Alice also appeared beside him less than thirty seconds later, her face both excited and happy.
"You did it! You saved them!" she went to hug Alex.
"Yeah!"
"And you even got the respect of the queen and princess of the tribe, she seems very fond of you!"
He couldn\'t help but notice how she seemed perfectly content with his relationship with Alera.
He couldn\'t understand how she didn\'t feel irritated or jealous, as the only time she pouted was when he didn\'t include her in his plans to sleep with the queen and princess.
\'Well,\' Alex sighed, \'She is a weird girl after all.\'
Alex couldn\'t even imagine how this sweet girl had died in his previous life.
And this only brought fury to him.
The [Madmen] guild leader Dawn was the one that attempted to kill her, and he wasn\'t done with his revenge.
Even if it meant killing him in the real world, Alex would do it.
After all, most of these assholes would associate with demons, evil spirits, abyssal humans and gods just to gain power.
Which is why the increase in players was both a blessing and a curse.
Until then, though, Alex could relax for a bit, because until the players reach [Bell City], there was nothing more to do.
Soon, the second event would begin to go further in the map, and players wouldn\'t lose this opportunity to gain levels.
Those that only joined around 6 days ago (3 days IRL) had a 1 in-game month behind from the others after all.
But in contrast to what many believed, more "grindy" and "determined" players would appear, making them even stronger than the first batch.
Alex would be ready for it all.
He smacked Alice\'s buttocks just like he did with Alera, and the girl yelped.
"I\'ve seen you give me flustered glances every time I did that," Alex laughed.
"..." her was bright red, "T-then you can keep doing it..."
"I will."
Alex could relax for now.
The calm before the storm. .net
But in that case, it wouldn\'t be a storm, but a world-ending supernova.
