Chapter 96: Chapter 98 - Revelation of Past Life (1)
Her mind was already overwhelmed by the events that had just occurred, trying to calm herself due to the soaring pain tormenting her heart.
But he just...
"Wha—Mmmphhh!?"
Badump!
Her heartbeat thumped the moment he sealed her lips, not even giving her the chance to speak any further.
Her eyes widened as she reflexively brought her hand forward, pushing him away with force, lurching his body to the ground as she yelled, "How dare you!" Experience tales at m v|l e\'-NovelBin.net
Her heartbeat was out of control, but her mind, which a few moments ago had been defeated by her heart, seemed to want to battle instead, as her anger consumed her.
She glared at the man who dared to kiss her.
"Huh? Oh, I am sorry…" Avendial said, seated on the ground after being thrown, knowing full well that force wasn\'t the option here.
He had kept his body loosened since earlier, prompting her push to create a distance of one hand\'s length from her now.
With his eyes widening, as if feeling some kind of pain, he ruffled his hair with one hand, turning his gaze down as he feigned guilt.
"What? Sorry?! How dare you; it was my first—damn you!" Aria wanted to yell more but bit her lip in frustration. Her eyes fell just above his lips, where the blood marks that belonged to her were evident, causing her to feel even more enraged.
In that state, she seemed to not notice how, for a millisecond, the title visible above Avendial\'s head had flickered, as if glitching.
Her whole attention was on him.
In that fleeting second of the kiss, he licked her lips where the wound from her previous pain, caused by her biting her lips, was present.
"Calm down, Aria," Avendial said, seeing how his first attempt to gauge her reaction had failed.
He understood that most likely until he shared more body fluid and checked her reaction when she noticed her ability not working for a moment, he wouldn\'t be able to manipulate her.
Indeed, he had intentionally kissed her and even licked her lips, primarily targeting the blood mark.
Given there was a wound, his saliva, which was a type of his body fluid, had just made contact with her bloodstream, causing her ability to be disrupted for a few seconds, though it appeared it was not obvious to Aria for now.
"Calm down? Who are you to touch me?!" Aria instantly used her hand, starting to rub her lips, trying to erase the mark of her first kiss being taken by a stranger.
She even thought of hitting him, but somehow she feared what he might do, given he was a villain.
In the park, if some kind of chaos occurred by her hitting him and he retaliated, this would become a major issue inside the academy grounds.
And given that higher-ups would be involved, she needed to rectify why she hit a professor.
She definitely couldn\'t say he kissed her, given how this news would spread to everyone—even Lin would know it.
".....He doesn\'t even care..." Aria couldn\'t help but think about how Lin would not feel anything, and it hit her hard.
She just covered her face with her hands, feeling defeated.
Nothing seemed to be going right, and all she wanted was to be near him.
But it felt like fate was throwing obstacles in their way, and everything was falling apart around her.
"Are you okay?" Avendial inquired with his eyes narrowed, observing this woman\'s mental fortitude breaking down.
Given his last life\'s memory, he had seen how stubborn and mentally strong this woman was.
Given her face was burnt, it was evident that she must have strengthened her mental fortitude even more after surviving in the tower.
Though, of course, without being reborn with a strong mind, it was impossible to strengthen it, which was why he targeted her directly instead of sending someone to bring her to him.
This was the shortest method, given how, by arriving in front of her, knowing about her ability, her mental fortitude would directly break down the moment she saw his title as a villain.
Though he was not sure if there was a regression also attached to it, at least it was enough to shock her.
And today, Lin had just made things much easier for him by reacting in that way with her, giving him an opportunity that was impossible for him to drop.
Knowing well that if he succeeded today, then the plan he had made to stay here for a month would not be necessary, and he would soon be able to focus on other matters.
"Please, please, just go away from my life! Leave me alone!" Aria once again begged, grabbing her hair before covering her ears as she fell into a fetal position, begging him to leave her alone.
Tears began to form in her eyes.
She needed some time for peace to put her mind together.
\'...pity you,\' Avendial thought calmly, watching her in such desperation.
He knew very well that it was now or never.
He wasn\'t just going to let this moment pass when she was at her weakest, causing him to slowly stand.
\'Finally,\' Aria inwardly thought the moment she felt him standing and preparing to leave.
She was relieved, causing her to loosen her body, lying down, covering, and burying her face in the grass, feeling completely broken inside.
But she knew just like how she always went through all the suffering, she would be able to get through this and remain strong.
"I... am sorry Aria, I will leave your life, but I hope, unlike in the last life, you don\'t let your ability be used by that bastard," Avendial said, his tone weak but his eyes looking down at the woman who was kowtowing in front of him.
He just passed beside her, while inwardly waiting for her reaction, which instantly...
Swish!
"Stop! ....what did you say?" Aria suddenly yanked herself back, her hands stretched as she grabbed his wrist, her teary eyes splattering tears around, with her gaze widened.
She looked at him; though due to the distance, her body had tumbled forward, falling to the ground, she had grabbed his wrist.
The words she heard from him were too much for her to withstand, as her mind processed each of his words and put them together:
He knew about her ability.
According to his words, Lin had used her in the future, and she didn\'t know anything else—she just wanted to know what else.
"Aria, beware, idiot!" Watching her spring into action made Avendial smirk for a second, but the grin disappeared fast as he knelt to hold her shoulder, lending her some support.
He noticed a few students had noticed them standing there, but due to the sizes of bushes, they were not able to see if anyone was lying down—only him, given his facial expression was attracting their attention automatically.
Not caring about it, he supported Aria, further reprimanding her, "What if you hurt yourself?!"
".....I.."
Aria\'s eyes trembled as she felt his palm holding her shoulder.
While her eyes trembled seeing his worried face, he looked around her palm to see if she had any wound.
Somehow, she felt disheartened, given whom she loved tried to hurt her and the one who saved her from that loved one was worrying about her.
She couldn\'t figure out why the people you care about the most end up being the ones that hurt you the worst.
