The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 252: 252:Returning Home

A dense heavy mass of wreckage floated around the sips, painting a grim picture. The huge fragments of debris floated around, carried by the restless waves.

The winds howled, and the ship shuddered violently as a massive wave slammed into its side. Victor steadied himself, commanding focus despite the frenzy around him. "Hold steady! Prepare for evasive maneuvers!" he barked, adrenaline surging through him.

Suddenly, a blinding flash of light cut through the darkness, causing Victor to squint his eyes against the brightness. A massive whirlpool had formed in the center of the fleet, swirling with an energy that seemed to pulse like a heartbeat. The sound waves from their machines bounced off the edges of the vortex, creating an eerie resonance that echoed throughout the Triangle.

"Deploy the energy shields!" Victor ordered, knowing that their only chance of survival was to counter the storm\'s pull. The crew sprang into action, activating their defensive technology as the wind shrieked around them.

A spasmodic mass of energy burst forth from the ship, forming an invisible barrier that deflected the wreckage slamming against it.

Witnessing the marvel, Victor grinned.

"Hahahaha! It seems like we are doing something that is gonna etch our names in the annals of history."

The port of BBSR buzzed with anticipation as the colossal cruise ship edged closer to the dock.

The salty sea breeze mingled with the scent of fresh seafood from nearby vendors, but the air was thick with tension, growing heavier as the ship finally moored. Crowds gathered along the docks, their excitement and curiosity bubbling to the surface.

With a sudden thud, the ship\'s gangway descended, and a group of guards, clad in sleek uniforms, marched down with military precision. Their disciplined formation immediately drew the attention of the crowd, sparking a wave of murmurs. .net

"Who are they?" someone in the back whispered, peering over the shoulders of those in front to get a better look.

"Look at the security detail—it\'s definitely some big shot."

"But who?" another replied, squinting against the afternoon sun.

As if on cue, a figure emerged from the deck.

He stood tall and striking, exuding an otherworldly aura that seemed to captivate everyone.

His attire was tailored to perfection, a stark contrast to the casual beachwear of those around him and a small, confident grin played across his face as he surveyed the crowd.

"Whoa! Who is that?" a young woman exclaimed, her voice rising above the murmurs.

"Is he a celebrity?" chimed another, unable to take her eyes off the enigmatic figure.

"I\'ve never seen him before, but there\'s something familiar about him. As if I\'ve seen him somewhere," an elderly man mused, scratching his chin.

"BAHHH! Stop bullshitting old man," a brash teenager interjected, dismissing the whispers with a wave of his hand.

Evan stood atop the ship\'s deck, his keen hearing picking up the fragments of their conversations.

A sense of satisfaction washed over him as he listened to the murmurs of intrigue. The evolution of his persona was complete, and despite the storm brewing beneath the surface, he felt good basking in the spotlight.

"Ha! I am home…" he thought, a smirk creeping onto his face.

"It has been a long day…"

Leaning against the railing, Evan gazed down at the crowd with a mix of amusement and contemplation flickering in his eyes.

The amount of guards surrounding him reminded him of how far he had come from humble beginnings. The system had definitely changed his life with grace, but… he knew it wasn\'t just luck.

All of this wouldn\'t have been possible without the connections he had built along the journey and he found comfort in their presence.

Yet, a flicker of unease crossed his mind. Would he be arrested the moment he stepped off the ship? The thought sent a chill down his spine.

Throughout his journey, he had sensed the watchful eyes of the government officials, wondering if they would show up the second he appeared on the dock.

"However, it would be interesting if they did," he mused, his voice barely above a whisper. "Then I\'d have a reason to tear their faces off."

Evan recalled the lessons he had learned since that fateful day in USL—when he was hit by a truck, naïve and unprepared, and forced to surrender the technology he had built with effort. The difference between the past and present felt like heaven and hell, a stark contrast that only fueled his resolve.

One lesson had become ingrained in him: it didn\'t matter who started the war—only that you had a reason to fight. Justification could sway the masses and the right narrative could even rewrite history.

With that thought firmly planted in his mind, Evan straightened up and took a deep breath. It was time to step into the limelight and reclaim what was rightfully his.

"Let\'s make an entrance," he declared, turning to his guards. "We\'re going to give them a show. After all, it doesn\'t feel bad to be graced in glory."

As the guards positioned themselves around him, Evan descended the gangway with an air of authority. The crowd parted before him, eyes wide with awe as he approached. Murmurs turned to gasps, and the atmosphere shifted from curiosity to palpable energy.

While everyone was mesmerized as Evan stepped down, a scream pierced through the crowd, shaking him to the core.

"Who the fuck are you?"

Evan, who had been enjoying himself by basking in a joyous atmosphere and enjoying the delight, almost slipped in his steps and stumbled at the outburst.

Pausing, he took a look around to find that ominous bitch.

"Fuck! Mac, bring that woman here," he growled. "I am gonna rip her myself."

Just as Mac was about to step forward, the woman, Maria, who had screamed earlier suddenly sprang behind an elderly woman and shouted.

"Aunt Celina…Protect me! This otherworldly monster is going to kill me…"

Mac hesitated, knowing full well the chain of authority in command. In that, Celina held a status similar to Evan\'s.

He couldn\'t offend her.

Celina, momentarily dazed, ignored Maria and walked closer to Evan before asking, her face filled with concern.

"Evan, is that you? What happened to your face…? Did you get plastic surgery?" asking that, she reached out to rub and pull Evan\'s cheeks as if checking him, not giving him a moment to respond or answer her questions.
