Chapter 226: Lunch
He was too lazy to respond.
Without saying anything, he walked away.
"Hey, where are you going?" The young man immediately followed her, looking annoyed that she didn\'t respond.
He himself was not in the mood to go anywhere, just exploring the mansion.
On the walls, he saw quite a few famous paintings including antiques such as armor and crowns to several thrones.
If this mansion was turned into a museum, art lovers from all over the world would probably come to see.
As he continued to walk around to look around, he heard some people talking about lunch being over.
It was already almost 3pm.
It seemed that this family had not eaten lunch because they were waiting for him and Jane.
He saw people starting to go to the back room of this mansion.
When the door was opened, David found a very large dining table, already full of delicious dishes.
Even Enzo and his men were heading there, looking like they wanted to eat.
"Would you like to have lunch too?" Arthur who followed him asked him.
This was something he had doubts about.
Besides the fact that he was an outsider, there were many who disliked him here. It would look strange if she joined them for lunch.
In the end, he shook his head.
"I don\'t want to eat here," he said.
"Heeh, do you feel embarrassed?" Arthur asked again, smiling slightly as if guessing his thoughts.
"Shame is part of human nature. I\'m a dignified person, don\'t like to lower myself," David replied, choosing not to argue.
He then added, "and who knows if the food I\'m about to eat is actually safe!"
Having said that, he resumed his steps, no longer speaking.
Perhaps Arthur felt his words were logical, so he chose silence.
He then went to the dining room.
The good thing was that David suddenly received a message from Evelyn.
(I know you\'re hungry, come to my room, I\'ve prepared lunch for you!)
The message was like rain in the desert, putting David in a good mood.
Only, he didn\'t know which room it was.
(Where\'s your room?) He asked in reply, to which she immediately replied.
(The one with the snow cat carving!)
Every door in this mansion did have different carvings, most of them had animal carvings.
David scanned door after door before finally finding a door with a snow cat carving.
Without waiting any longer, he walked over to it.
Since everyone had already gone to the dining room, so no one would see him enter Evelyn\'s room.
If anyone saw this, this was indeed a bit of a problem.
In no time, he arrived in front of the room\'s door.
When he pushed it, he found that it was unlocked.
With a single push from him, it opened, revealing a luxurious, classically-styled room where the bed was next to a window overlooking the beach.
There wasn\'t much to see inside this room, just a single closet and a desk.
After all, this is not the room Evelyn lives in, so naturally there are no amenities at all.
Other than the desk, there was a dining table, close to the bed, also next to the window.
It was only for two people, now full of delicious food.
Of course, the best view was the figure of the woman sitting elegantly on one of her chairs.
When he looked at her, he finally saw her indescribable smile.
"Lock the door, sometimes there are crazy people who enter suddenly," she told him as he pushed the door shut.
He nodded to her, locking the door before walking over to the dining table.
"I think I\'m going to starve in this place," he said as he sat down in his chair.
"There\'s no way I\'d let my lover starve," Evelyn replied with a smile that was pleasant to see.
"It\'s impossible to let me starve, but scolding me is still possible, am I right?" replied David.
He couldn\'t help but talk about her actions a moment ago.
Even if he knew she was only joking, still he was somewhat offended.
"Are you angry?" Instead of apologizing, Evelyn suddenly asked with an expression that could be said to provoke emotions.
"I\'m quite offended, of course." David did not dispute that.
"Hehehe..." Evelyn suddenly laughed.
"Then I apologize. If there\'s a gift you want, I\'ll give it as an apology," she said with her left eye flashing.
She was clearly teasing him.
The word Vixen was totally appropriate to describe her.
Unfortunately, David was not interested in any gifts.
For him, her figure was already the best gift.
"As long as you let me sleep here tonight, that\'s fine," he said.
"It doesn\'t matter." Evelyn laughed as she replied.
She picked up the fork, inviting him to start eating.
Here, there was a certain sensation when eating. Even the appetite increased due to the fragrant scent of Evelyn\'s perfume.
"By the way, what exactly are those elders doing?" David could not help but ask about that because he was still curious until now.
Although Evelyn must not know either, she should have speculated.
"Probably some kind of action to protect the world, I\'m not sure either," the woman replied in a rather quiet voice that David almost didn\'t hear.
"Is that something that might be done by them?" David gave her a strange look, incredulous.
"It\'s possible when they themselves feel threatened. Maybe you\'ll know the details when you see Jane again," Evelyn said.
David was silent, trying to imagine but there was nothing he could imagine.
In the end, he could only sigh.
Incidentally, the food on his plate was already gone. He ate quite quickly because it was delicious while his stomach was starving.
