Longevity: Starting from the Qi Tags

Chapter 159 - 127: Goal Achieved, Yin and Yang Xuan Jade in Hand!

Time quietly slipped away.

After a considerable time.

The auction price for item 79 down below was finally set.

Lin Meier slowly said, “Everyone here has likely heard a rumor these past days, that we at the Treasure Pavilion have added an item to auction last-minute.”

Somebody down below immediately brightened, “Could it be the Bodhi Fruit that Miss Lin is talking about?”

Lin Meier smiled blossoming, “You’re really smart! The item we’ve added is indeed the Bodhi Fruit!”

A passionate sparkle appeared in the eyes of the crowd below.

Somebody anxiously blurted, “Then what are we waiting for? Bring the Bodhi Fruit out for auction quickly, I must get it!”

The crowd drawled at his comments, with someone sneering, “Determined to get it? With the wealth of your Snow Eagle Palace? That’s a laugh!”

Seeing tension rising among the crowd, Lin Meier quickly announced, “Everyone please calm down, the Bodhi Fruit will be out shortly!”

While she was speaking, a maid from backstage calmly walked onto the stage, placing a tray in front of Lin Meier.

Under Lin Meier was a red cloth, revealing two jade boxes.

She slowly opened the jade boxes and displayed the Bodhi Fruit in front of everyone.

“Everyone, take a look. This is the Bodhi Fruit. It only grows at the place of meditation of a highly attained Buddhist monk, under extremely stringent conditions. It requires a monk deep in yin-yang and in the upper realm of the dharma-nature, a true Great Cultivator.”

“So this item is extremely rare, but its effects are also strong – it greatly enhances perception.”

“Even the dimmest person would have a sudden boost in insight upon consuming a Bodhi Fruit.”

“And moreover, in the Qianyuan Kingdom, it’s been decades since an item as extraordinary as the Bodhi Fruit has appeared! Apart from the two fruits I have here right now, the only possible stock left could exist in places like the Buddhist Sect at Lankesh Temple!”

“If you miss this opportunity, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life!”

Hearing Lin Meier’s impassioned pitch and the deep timbre of her voice, Jiang Yuan felt within his heart a deep sense of regret if he were to pass up the opportunity.

Continuing, Lin Meier added, “There are only two lots this auction, each lot containing one fruit. The starting bid is for one hundred thousand lower-grade spirit stones, with bid increments of no less than five thousand!”

“The auction starts now!”

The bidders below immediately began entering their bids.

In only a moment, the price for each Bodhi Fruit rose to one hundred and fifty thousand lower-grade spirit stones.

Seeing how swiftly the price escalated, Jiang Yuan couldn’t help but be astounded.

Time passed and the bids gradually reached one hundred and eighty thousand. Out of nowhere, somebody in booth three called, “I bid two hundred thousand. Can you all spare me some face?”

All eyes immediately turned to booth three on the second floor.

“Situ Wang, it’s him!” Came a surprised whisper from the crowd.

Jiang Yuan’s mind was immediately ablaze with information about him. Situ Wang occupied the sixteenth spot on the Heavenly Ranking.

Fame wasn’t his only virtue. His grandfather was Situ Bo, a prominent figure in the Dharma Realm, and also a Great Cultivator. Being incredibly fond of Situ Wang, Situ Bo was willing to meet practically every one of his demands.

Within the Qianyuan Kingdom, he truly was an influential figure.

Just then, the window of booth one slowly slid open.

A voice resounded across the room, “Why should we give you face? Is it because you think your face is big?”

Upon seeing the face in booth one, the crowd below was momentarily astonished, their eyes flashing with caution.

The person was none other than Zhou Ting, eighth on the Heavenly Rankings. Only a hair’s breadth from reaching the Divine Bridge Realm.

Above all, his identity was crucial. He was the eleventh prince of the Qianyuan Kingdom.

In Qianyuan Kingdom, the most compelling force, the heaviest influence, was the Imperial Family of Qianyuan.

Zhou Ting calmly stated, “I bid two hundred and ten thousand. If you can, then match it!”

Situ Wang chuckled, “Why the rush? Wait for someone to outbid me and then we’ll see.”

Zhou Ting looked at him closely, then slowly sat back down again. A hint of surprise flashed across his face. Despite eggs being thrown in his face, he remained unruffled. A person not to be underestimated indeed.

That, indeed, was the most beloved grandson of that old man, Situ Bo.

It was then that Lin Meier down below began, “The lowest bid for the Bodhi Fruit now stands at two hundred thousand per fruit. Is there an even larger bid?”

Upon hearing the amount, the crowd hesitated.

This was already double the original price. Quite extravagant.

At such a price, it was starting to become a poor value for the cost.

Some time passed before Lin Meier gently exclaimed, “The Bodhi Fruit will now be sold at it’s lowest price of two hundred thousand lower-grade spirit stones. Congratulations to the two new owners.”

Hearing this, Jiang Yuan felt a moment of relief and ecstatic joy.

This selling price was well beyond his expectations.

Thus he calculated that, subtracting the cost of the Yin-Yang Swords he had won and the Five Elements Spirit Fruit, he had about three hundred and fifty thousand lower-grade spirit stones left.

It shouldn’t be a problem to secure the Yin-Yang Xuan Jade, right?

Jiang Yuan contemplated to himself deeply.

After a while,

A middle-aged woman arrived at Jiang Yuan’s room.

It was the same clerk who had received him previously.

She handed a Heaven and Earth Bag to Jiang Yuan.

“Young Master Jiang, the two Bodhi Fruits were auctioned off for a total of four hundred and ten thousand lower-grade spirit stones, deducting the five percent handling fee leaves a total of three hundred and eighty-nine thousand five hundred lower-grade spirit stones.”

“Deducting the cost of the Five Elements Spirit Fruit you bid for, which was one hundred and thirty-four thousand lower-grade spirit stones, you have a total of two hundred and fifty-five thousand five hundred lower-grade spirit stones.”

“There are twenty-five high-grade spirit stones within, and fifty-five medium-grade spirit stones. Please confirm.”

Jiang Yuan received the Heaven and Earth Bag, gave it a moment of divine sense, and was greeted with the accurate count of stones. Not a single one missing.

He nodded his head in satisfaction.

Seeing Jiang Yuan’s reaction, she handed out another black-gold card.

“This is the highest honor of the Treasure Pavilion, the Black Gold Card. It represents your status as our most esteemed guest.”
