Chapter 73: The Owner Of Distort?
"The people you're going to meet aren't attempting to host a meeting but size you out, entertainment industry also means your fashion sense matters. Do not be intimidated and also don't be serious,"
This made perfect sense and Kyle knew that this philosophy was sound but it was time.
He had approximately $206,000,000 in his account, it was depleting at a rapid rate but he wasn't spending on frivolous things.
Everything he spent on was an investment, it wasn't just being spent on useless things.
Kyle hopped into his car, Jones had also helped with a perfume that he thought could help.
This was the moment of truth, night had fallen and Kyle tore through the streets of California City.
Kyle was feeling nervous, he knew that these people had a way of seeing if someone belonged to their social class or not.
It took a couple of minutes for him to arrive at his destination. He left his home 30 minutes early in case there was traffic but luckily, the road was clear.
He parked the car outside the location but he was surprised by what he saw, the name of the location had thrown him off so he assumed this was a normal hotel but to his utmost surprise, it was a nightclub.
The relief on Kyle's face was evident because he knew that Jones had saved his life.
Imagine wearing a suit to a nightclub.
The time for meeting now made sense as well and Kyle got a lot of stares because Kyle looked like someone that belonged on the big screen and they weren't sure if he was a celebrity or not.
Kyle was feeling like a god but he noticed that there was a bouncer at the door checking names.
He didn't know if he should just walk past him or stand in line like everyone else.
He didn't have much of a social status after all but the person he was meeting was supposedly important hence his dilemma.
"Mister Kyle?" A voice called out behind him, startling him.
Kyle jerked his head back to see a lady standing there but if she knew his name, then it had to be her.
No, she wasn't dressed like someone who held that sort of power nor did her presence command much authority.
"Hello there, do you sneak up on everyone?" Kyle responded but the woman didn't show much of a reaction to his joke except for a polite smile.
"Mr. Nakamura will see you," The lady responded, she had on high heels but even with that, she was standing at 5 '1. She was small but Kyle could tell she was originally from America because of her little accent.
"Isn't it customary to introduce yourself?" Kyle requested but all she did was gesture for him to follow her.
She wasn't polite but she told Kyle that she didn't think much of him and this was a direct reflection of how Nakamura also felt.
She was a reflection of him but Kyle knew this would have to change, he checked the owner of Distort online but there was no Nakamura so he didn't know just how important he was.
Kyle knew he might have to kiss ass but there was no way he was doing so with someone as insignificant as an assistant.
"You know what? I think I have changed my mind," Kyle said, staying in place.
He had to make a strong first impression and he knew that this might be a test to measure him.
Jones did hint at something like this happening and realized that he might have to call their bluff.
She had a choice, to keep working or return but the moment she stopped, Kyle had his answer.
The lady returned to where he was but her forced smile was nowhere to be seen.
"Mr. Nakamura is a very busy man. Can you please follow me, Mister Kyle?" The Asian lady said but Kyle was unimpressed by her behavior.
"So am I, if you're done wasting my time. I will be on my way, I think I will take my business somewhere else," Kyle responded sternly.
"Huh? You are not a representative?" The lady was surprised by his statement. The truth was, no one knew who Kyle was.
They all assumed he was just a face, companies did that a lot to protect the identity of the one who really runs the place, just like Nakamura.
On the internet, the company didn't belong to him but that wasn't the case in reality.
"I am the owner. You called me here for a meeting and treated me with this much disrespect?" Kyle was disgusted by this.
The lady's body language changed the moment this information was relayed to her and she bowed to apologize for this transgression.
Kyle understood where the disrespect stemmed from but he found it strange that this was their character at the core.
"The rich looking down on the poor, how typical," Kyle thought to himself but this was how the world worked.
"My name is Yuki and I'm Mr. Nakamura's personal assistant. I was told to wait for you and usher you inside. My character is not a reflection of Mr. Nakamura. I'm sorry, I didn't know who you were," Yuki responded with her head still bowed.
Yuki was petite but this also included her features, Kyle didn't find her attractive even though she was cute.
"It is fine, just take me to him, Yuki," Kyle responded. Kyle was eager to make a good first impression but in the end, it was Yuki that made a bad one.
If this was how they treated someone supposedly inferior to them, he had no qualms about using them to get to where he wanted to go.
"H-He is so young…" Yuki was surprised by his age, this was the only reason she thought he was a representative. If he was older, there was no way she would have made this mistake.
He walked behind her and right past the bouncer, once again noticing the intimidating aura that his body exuded.
Kyle needed that sort of energy and this was why he planned to enroll into a gym as soon as the sun rose but that was his future him problem.
The present version of him had to nail this and the moment he stepped into the building, the smell hit him hard.
He expected a terrible smell to invade his nostrils but that wasn't the case, one would think he walked into an elegant parlay.
Kyle noticed that there was no music here either, no sound whatsoever.
Everyone on the dancefloor had headphones on, they were dancing to no music.
"What the…!" Kyle thought to himself, he heard about this as it helped with noise pollution but this took the old-school experience away from the scene. always on m|vl|e|mp|y|r
Everything had become so modernized but there was no need to change a working system.
However, it gave Kyle an idea but he noticed a Japanese man sitting in one of the V.I.P.
"Here you go sir," Someone said behind him, Kyle jerked his head but saw a short man handing him a pair of headphones.
Kyle declined, he had no interest in partying or partaking in the activity either.
He followed Yuki and before he knew it, he was in front of the Japanese man.
Kyle could instantly tell that this was a powerful man and knew he had to watch his tone.
The fact that no one else was in the V.I.P. section was because he had bought out the entire section which easily entered the hundreds of thousands.
Unlike Kyle who had a rebate system, this man's wealth was obtained from sweat and blood.
The fact that he was a foreigner further added to his accomplishment.
"Welcome Mister Kyle, shall we get to business?" The older man in his mid-fifties said.
He had white hair and his wrinkled face was a reminder that no one could escape the aging of time but who knows, maybe there was a system out there for immortality?
"Mister Nakamura, I hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long," Kyle said, sitting right across from him.
He wasn't going to treat him as a superior because he understood that he could change that by spending $100,000,000 on any girl in his harem.
"You did not but I must say, I was surprised when I heard a bankrupt agency was willing to cover a part of our movie to feature one of their actresses. I just had to meet the person responsible for such a bold move but it looks like I was sent…!" Nakamura was interrupted by his assistant before he could complete that sentence, whispering something into his ears.
"WHAT?!" Nakamura shouted before giving Kyle a second look and Kyle already knew what she told him.
"Hi, I'm Kyle and I'm the sole owner of JPD Agency,"
