Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 34: The Death of Zhang Tao and Li Xian

Chapter 34: The Death of Zhang Tao and Li Xian

The night was shrouded in an eerie darkness, broken only by the distant glow of lanterns in the city they had just escaped.

Li Xian had unwavering determination, but even he couldn\'t hide the fear in his eyes.

His dark hair was matted with sweat, and his once-immaculate robes were now torn and dirtied from their frantic flight.

His sharp eyes darted around, scanning the treacherous path ahead for any signs of danger.

"How could this be possible?" Li Xian murmured as he raced with all his might.

The mere thought of the Su clan killing the Blood Whisperer and having all the cities and towns in both Western and Northern Barren under control in a span of one day shook him to his core.

This had never happened since inception.

No clan dared to attack another barren land without incurring the wrath of other barren lands.

But now, the two powerful clans in each region were on the escape of their lives.

"Father, relax. When we get to the sea, we will be safe," Zhang Bo said with an assuring smile.

Hearing this, Zhang Tao looked at his son and put on a forced smile.

But deep down, he knew that the moment they left the barren, they would never reclaim their land.

Unless they found some powerful family to back them up.

However, when he thought of his family on the other side of the barren land, a confident smile appeared on his face.

"As long as we can cross the sea successfully, we still have a chance to recover everything."

It was no secret that all the sacred clans in the barren land were only mere branches.

Their main clans were on the other side of the sea, a bustling and powerful place with deeper inheritance than the barren land.

Some clans on the other side of the sea had survived the attack of the Bloodmoon Envoy, showing how fearsome and great the land beyond the southern sea was.

However, to reach the mainland, they needed to cross the dangerous Southern sea filled with many ferocious sea beasts.

"My lord! Look," a guard shouted excitedly, pointing into the distance.

At once, everyone followed his direction and noticed the sea with a strong tide in the distance.

"T-That\'s the sea," Zhang Bo said with bubbling excitement written all over his face.

Seeing this, the expressions of everyone turned into joy.

As Li Xian and his companions basked in a fleeting moment of relief and anticipation, believing they had successfully eluded their pursuers, an air of euphoria washed over them.

The sound of their own laughter, once stifled by the weight of their escape, filled the air, and a sense of victory seemed within their grasp.

"Haha. Finally," Li Xian exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with hope. "Now, let\'s see how the Su clan will catch us once we reach the sea..."

The group exchanged triumphant glances, wiping the beads of sweat from their foreheads, as the refreshing sea breeze filled their lungs.

It was as if the world had opened up to embrace them, offering them a taste of the freedom they had yearned for.

But just as their spirits soared, a sudden voice shattered their newfound confidence, cutting through the euphoria like a dagger through silk.

"Really!" The voice emerged from their left, echoing from behind a seemingly innocent hill, and a shiver ran down their spines.

As they turned to face the source of the voice, their expressions shifted from elation to shock.

There, emerging from their hiding place with a sinister sneer, was Supreme elder Su Feng.

His eyes gleamed with triumph, and his presence was a stark reminder that their escape was far from over.

Li Xian and Zhang Tao exchanged subtle glances, and their hearts sank.

Their expressions shifted from happiness to sheer disbelief.

It was a moment of profound shock and surprise, as if fate had played a cruel trick on them, snatching away their hard-earned moment of respite.

"Do you all think we won\'t know that you\'ve planned your escape?" Su Feng asked with ridicule written all over his face.

"We didn\'t only monitor the southern route. Even if you were to escape toward the Dreadshade forest, our people would be waiting for you there.

Since you decided to go against my Su Clan, you\'ve already written your end." Su Feng clasped his hands behind his back and walked casually toward them.

When Su Feng got closer to the group, the loyal soldiers exchanged glances with Zhang Bo and nodded.

"Die!" They screamed and rushed toward him with their spears going for a kill.

Seeing this, everyone held their breath, hoping their surprise attack would catch him off guard.

As for Su Feng, he looked at the sudden attack with a sneer.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Immediately, tens of arrows came from behind the hill, killing the loyal guards as quickly as they rushed out.

Seeing this, Li Xian, Zhang Tao, and Zhang Bo took a step back subconsciously.

Their faces filled with panic and fear as they realized Su Feng was not alone.

"What should we do?" They exchanged glances, unwillingness written all over their faces.

Taking a deep breath, Zhang Tao took a step forward and said, "What do you need? You don\'t have to kill us. Let us go, and I promise you all the resources of both clans will belong to you."

When Elder Su Feng heard this, he turned his head and stared directly into Zhang Tao\'s eyes.

Everyone was quiet, leaving only the gentle cool breeze of the sea.

\'What a marvelous move. Yes, everyone needs money. How can he be so different…\' Li Xian didn\'t finish his thought when Elder Su Feng raised his hand.

Whoosh!

Bang!

A sharp arrow pierced Zhang Tao\'s neck, sending him flying, falling at the foot of his child.

"F-Father…" Zhang Bo\'s eyes contorted with bitterness and madness as tears streamed from his eyes.

He fell to his knees and held his lifeless father, with veins protruding from his forehead.

His chest rose and fell with seethed rage boiling from the depths of his soul.

"Die!" He stood and rushed toward Elder Su Feng.

Whoosh!

Bang!

Another arrow pierced his forehead, sending him flying and crashing beside his father.

Looking at the deaths of both father and son, Li Xian\'s legs turned to jelly.

Meanwhile, in another far corner of Lotus world, a temple loomed in the shadows.

Its ancient stones were weathered and worn, bearing the weight of centuries gone by.

Its ominous presence hung in the air, as if the very walls whispered secrets from a time long forgotten.

Tall, imposing pillars flanked the entrance, their surfaces adorned with intricate, eerie carvings that seemed to writhe and come to life in the dim light.

At the heart of the temple, bathed in a dim, eerie glow, stood an ancient altar.

Its surface was etched with cryptic symbols and formations that seemed to pulse with malevolent energy.

The patterns etched into the stone were not of this world, hinting at an age when knowledge far beyond mortal comprehension was wielded.

And at the very center of the altar, in stark contrast to the ominous surroundings, sat a bony, withered old man.

His skin was ashen and leathery, and his eyes were hollow, like windows to a void.

He was draped in tattered robes that seemed to have been untouched by time.

Hhis bony fingers traced the patterns on the altar with deliberate and unsettling precision.

Suddenly, the temple shook.

"What happened to my blood?" His aged voice loomed inside the temple.
