Chapter 7: Killing A Zombie!
With his current mana pool, his skill "Mist of Illusion" could last for more than three minutes, by then he was sure that the two zombies beside him would fall under its effect!
Giggle...
Giggling about the thought that the zombies would be gone by today, Leo started to watch the zombies beside him with interest.
He wanted to see what kind of effect would bring the skill to the zombies!
...
Soon, 20 seconds passed by...
Every five seconds, the zombies inside the white mist would intake a small amount of mist. Entering their nostrils and quickly traveling to their brains.
Grunt?
Leo stared at the zombie beside him with great expectation, although not much major happened in the last 20 seconds after the skill was activated Leo could feel that the mist already started to sip inside their brain.
He even saw the zombies exchanging a couple of glances with each other... Although it was weird to see them exchanging glances, the excitement inside Leo didn\'t subside even a little bit.
Soon another minute passed by and Leo\'s mana pool further decreased by another 6, leaving him with only 10 mana points in his mana pool.
However, although his mana continuously decreasing, Leo doesn\'t seem to notice it since his whole attention is focused on the two zombies in front of him.
He didn\'t know what kind of things they were currently seeing that caused them to droll while looking at each other. However, only one thing is for sure, they finally had fallen under the skill effect!
GRUNTT!!?
***
It had been a minute since the gray mist appeared, the two zombies as usual looked around in confusion before continuing on their journey.
Grunt?
The zombie with an incomplete neck suddenly grunts. The mist in the surrounding area suddenly receded before completely banishing in its line of sight. Revealing the clear blue skies in the sky... That was devoid of fissures or gloominess that the present holds.
The air carried a certain amount of vitality causing the incomplete zombie to greedily inhale the air as its blood started to come back to life... unbeknownst to the incomplete zombie, as seconds passed by, as it intake a large amount of air, the color of the surroundings became more vivid.
At the same time as the incomplete zombie was greedily inhaling the air, the zombie (without arms) beside him suddenly changed its appearance without him noticing or to be exact he noticed it but he was completely focused on absorbing the vitality in the air... As if he was addicted to it.
Grunt?
At one time, the incomplete zombie suddenly stops inhaling the mist as it notices that the vitality seems to vanish in the air and move inside the human beside him.
GRUNTT!
Greatly angered.
Seeing the sudden/complete appearance of a human beside him, the zombie without any question instinctively opened his disgusting red dry mouth and bit the armless zombie\'s neck aggressively.
Surprised by the sudden attack, the armless zombie didn\'t have time to evade causing it to fall toward the ground, on top of him was the incomplete zombie gnawing on its neck aggressively.
Leo who saw everything that happened couldn\'t help but to divert his gaze away from the zombies. Fighting the urge to flee and puke.
He couldn\'t help but feel a deep chill inside him as he started to wonder what they saw that caused them to eat each other.
"I should use this skill with great caution," Leo thought heavily.
GRUNTT!! Gruntttt...
Upon hearing the intense sounds behind him, Leo closed his imaginary eyes and covered his imaginary ears in fear and disgust at seeing their action. Although it is completely useless since he is in incorporeal form, it lessens his fear by quite an amount.
Soon, another minute passed by. The grunting sound behind him lessened drastically and was replaced by another sound of gnawing flesh. However, although the incomplete zombie began eating the armless zombie, Leo could still hear the armless zombie grunting... Indicating that it was still alive.
"That was scary! This skill is crazy!! How could they eat each other!?"
With a newfound fear in his Mist Illusion skill, Leo impatiently waited for another 2 minutes to finally hear a notification that indicated that the armless zombie was finally dead... really dead.
Sighing in relief, Leo checked the notification that suddenly appeared in his line of sight.
Ding!
[ Congratulations for contributing to killing a Level 3 zombie! ]
+ 3 exp!
[ Congratulations for Indirectly killing a monster for the first time! ]
+ 1000 horror points!
...
Ohh?
Leo raised his brows in surprise upon seeing the additional horror points that appeared on the rewards.
\'Doing almost anything for the first time seems to grant me additional rewards."
After pondering for a few seconds, Leo decided to increase the level of his Mist Illusion skill by one, costing him 50 horror points in the process. Making his stash of horror points back to 1,340 horror points!
Satisfied about the little increase in his skill strength, Leo glanced at his back (to the dead zombie on the ground) in curiosity.
Gulp!
With a single glance, Leo shuddered instantly as he immediately closed his imaginary eyes and diverted his gaze away. Although he didn\'t manage to see everything, just a single glance from behind already made him shudder.
The incomplete zombie didn\'t ever spare a bone!
Soon, after a full 5 minutes of waiting, the effects of the skill finally wore off...
The zombie who has woken up from the hallucination didn\'t even look confused or dazed when the armless zombie suddenly vanished beside him as it again continued moving forward without any direction...
"Sigh, although they are zombies(monster), I still felt pity for their intelligence," Sighing deeply, Leo again floated behind the zombie, continuing following its journey to find a real human living being.
