Chapter 603: 597: What Kind of People Are These?
“Are you insane? You made me fly halfway across the Heritage System just for a native from a backward planet that’s still within the scope of civilization protection?” Jasmine Davis’ eyes widened as she glanced at Finn Lewis, then turned to Dunn Monty to ask her question.
“Well, I’ll tell you once we’re on the ship. If you don’t leave now, every minute you stay here increases the risk of being discovered by the monitoring bureau.” Dunn Monty responded.
“Damn it! You’re relentless!” Jasmine Davis paused for a moment, her face changing colors a few times before finally glaring at Dunn Monty. “Get up there immediately! And remember, no matter who you are, once you’re on my ship, you follow my rules. Otherwise, I wouldn’t mind throwing you into the cosmos.”
Finn Lewis didn’t waste any breath. He merely glanced at her and then stepped onto the spaceship. Jasmine Davis paused, checking Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin’s reactions. Seeing no reaction from them, she cursed and followed suit.
Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin both gave wry smiles and followed.
The spaceship was not large. After boarding, Finn Lewis looked around before picking a spot to sit down. Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin entered the spaceship and exchanged looks before choosing to sit next to Finn. The small spaceship took off quickly. Aboard was only Jasmine Davis and a pilot apart from Finn.
Once onboard, Finn noticed the woman’s named Jasmine Davis’ eyes constantly wandering over him. Finn ignored her, choosing to close his eyes and meditate. He could feel the slight vibrations of the spaceship’s takeoff.
“Nice, you’ve got personality. I didn’t see that coming. You’re the first native from a primitive planet I’ve met that’s so audacious on my ship.” Jasmine Davis chuckled at Finn Lewis’ manner, speaking with her eyes squinted.
Although the spaceship was rapidly ascending – almost vertically, it felt as though they were still sitting on flat ground inside. It was clear how staggering the difference in technology was between the two sides.
Jasmine Davis didn’t sit down; instead, she walked towards the trio and propped her foot onto an unidentifiable component of the spaceship. She folded her arms across her knees, bending down and looking at the three of them with a grin, “Okay, tell me, who is he? Why are you two heading to the Heritage System? It can’t just be a casual trip, can it?”
“Cough, nothing gets past you. Allow me to introduce you formally, he is a prince, and this star system is his private property.” Dunn Monty coughed before quickly introducing them to Jasmine.
“Prince? You’re saying he’s part of the royal family? The Kalista Family, Mongolian Road Family, Green Clan, Locke Family, White Family, Takemon Family, Windsor Family, Baker Family, or the Rochefort House?” Jasmine Davis looked at Finn Lewis and listed out a series of names. Finn’s eyes remained closed not due to arrogance or from hiding something. The truth was Finn had little understanding of the Galactic Federation, and this was an excellent opportunity to learn.
Dunn Monty glanced at Finn before replying somewhat awkwardly, “None of those.”
“None of them? So what if he’s a prince if he doesn’t belong to the grand royal families? There are as many royals in the Galactic Federation as there are bugs. What use is that? It would only matter if he could inherit his family’s emblem.” Jasmine Davis dismissed him with a sneer.
Finn Lewis on the side, eyes closed, coudn’t help but roll his eyes. Dunn Monty had always been saying Finn was from the royal family, prompting Finn to begin imagining what being a royal entailed. But Finn realized he had made a fundamental mistake, he had interpreted ‘royal’ from Dunn Monty’s mouth according to traditional royal families from the Flame Nation.
Finn had assumed that since it was ‘royal’, there should only be one family affiliated, but the many family names that rolled off Jasmine Davis’ tongue clearly indicated otherwise. There must be countless families among the royals. Damn it, like Jasmine Davis said, royals were practically commonplace. In terms of influence, being royal didn’t mean much.
No wonder Dunn Monty had made his position clear during their first negotiation. While the Galactic Federation’s military would protect the interests of the royals, Finn was still susceptible to assassination. Given how Jasmine Davis put it, there could be who knows how many royals.
“Um, although he isn’t from one of the nine big royal families, he comes from a very prestigious background.” Thomas Calvin chimed in reluctantly.
“Prestigious? Aren’t all royals equally prestigious? Go on, I’m quite interested.” Jasmine Davis squinted, responding cheerfully.
At this moment, Finn Lewis felt a slight shake, like his body suddenly became a lot lighter. Although the sensation passed quickly, he opened his eyes and glanced ahead through the cockpit. He was taken aback by what he saw. They had already left the atmosphere, and the boundless cosmos stood before them.
“His Highness is a member of the Lewis family.” Dunn Monty got straight to the point.
Lewis? Finn paused for a moment. There’s a Lewis in the Galactic Federation too?
“The Lewis Family? Which Lewis Family?” Jasmine Davis was taken aback and couldn’t help asking.
“Apart from that Lewis family, is there another?” Dunn Monty rolled his eyes at Jasmine Davis, finding her attitude somewhat exasperating.
Jasmine Davis said nothing, instead choosing to scrutinize Finn Lewis from head to toe with a peculiar look. Although Finn had his eyes closed, he was extremely spiritually sensitive right now. He had no idea why he was aware of Jasmine Davis’s movements. As her gaze became unbearable, Finn reluctantly opened his eyes and asked, “What are you looking at?”
“Nothing, haha, I just wanted to see what the last person of the ancient nine-star royal family looked like, haha.” Jasmine Davis suddenly burst out laughing as though she’d just seen something hilarious. Dunn Monty and Thomas Calvin’s faces turned grim upon her reaction.
