Chapter 593: 587: Origin

“I have plenty of time and I assume you guys aren’t too busy.” Even if they were busy, Finn Lewis wouldn’t let them leave, taking stern measures if necessary. Finn was almost driven mad by these people. Damn it, he was living a great life on Earth. There was no need for these technologically advanced aliens to come and stir up trouble.

What the hell does it have to do with you guys! Not to mention the worst part is, they’re not merely causing trouble, they’re out for his life, something Finn absolutely could not accept.

“Yes… your Highness. We understand that all of this might conflict with what you’ve been taught. Do you honestly believed humans are the only Wisdom Creatures in the universe? Or perhaps, your Highness, you think humanity originated from the Earth alone?” The muscular man and the skinny man exchanged looks before the muscular one spoke.

“I don’t think so now, but I used to.” Finn nodded in acknowledgment.

“Indeed, higher-level Wisdom Creatures like humans generally require a very lengthy evolution to reach this point. Without a few hundred million years, it’s impossible for humans of such a high level to evolve. Humans on Earth and on other planets are similar, most of them are from the Plan of Origin.”

“Plan of Origin?” Finn raised his eyebrow.

“Yes, in the earliest eras, the number of humans in the universe was not that many. Subsequently, with technological advancement, new ways to develop the human population emerged. This involved finding planets suitable for life, and then releasing embryonic spores. These spores naturally evolved into primordial humans quite rapidly. After the rapid induction of human genes, humans soon entered the stage of advanced Wisdom Civilizations. Of course, these all happened very early on. The project was later abolished when the human population reached several trillion.” The muscular man said concisely.

“Go on.” Finn nodded indifferently, but his heart was far from calm. This conflicted greatly with his prior knowledge and education. Simply put, he used to think that humans evolved solely on Earth. But ever since meeting that man, Finn figured that might not be the case.

The fact that humans on Earth were simply farmed… left him with an indescribable feeling.

“Your Highness, don’t be upset. This is just part of the evolution of life. The release of the embryonic genetic spores is just a trigger, it’s not important.” The muscular man seemed to sense Finn’s emotions and attempted consolation, though it didn’t sound like much comfort.

“Alright, continue.” Finn nodded in agreement.

“This plan has been abandoned for at least tens of millions of years. However, many planets are still in a primitive and barren state. Despite official abandonment, countless people continue with similar endeavors clandestinely. These projects mostly take place in private star regions.” The muscular man hesitated briefly before continuing.

“Is there something you can’t say?” Finn noticed the muscular man’s hesitation.

“The story begins about three million years ago.” The muscular man paused before speaking. At hearing the time span, Finn couldn’t help but twitch once at the corner of his mouth.

Three million years, human history really is long! Most importantly, this is just this part of history. To start talking about giving up the project from tens of millions of years ago, what kind of technical development level would that be? Even if technology develops to a certain stage, there must be certain limits. But the terror inherent in the accumulation of such vast stretches of time.

Even a group of pigs would have become extremely intelligent after tens of millions of years of development, let alone humans.

“Three million years ago, the invention of one technology allowed humans to truly achieve immortality.” The muscular man resumed speaking.

“Immortality?!” Finn opened his mouth in surprise. What a joke! Even in Zero’s presence, Finn had never seen anything related to immortality.

“Yes, immortality. Of course, it’s a bit exaggerated, but it’s normal for a person’s life to reach tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of years. Of course, this is a game for the rich.” The muscular man looked slightly bitter as he spoke.

“What kind of technology is that?” Finn seized upon the potential key to the matter quickly.

“Someone decoded the codes within human genes, allowing aged human genes to re-stimulate their primeval genes. Then, by injecting new life essence, humans can rejuvenate and regain their youth. Repeating this cycle indefinitely offers no difference from immortality.” The muscular man explained calmly.

“What is this life essence? Where does it come from?” Finn asked straightforwardly, recognizing a change in the muscular man’s emotions.

“Your Highness, you’ve seized the most important matter. The essence of life, as its name suggests, is the essence drawn straight from high-ranked Wisdom Creatures.” The muscular man explained briefly.

“I still don’t quite understand.” Finn almost grasped something, but ended up with a fuzzy impression in his mind.

“Let me put it this way. This technology was abolished, as was the project, but many people carried out this plan when it was active, hence this technology spread. This technology is not that difficult, as the official prohibition for this technology and similar plans have continued for many years, but people are still implementing it. The people who are doing this are doing so because the technology is related to their life.” The muscular man resumed speaking.

“Does this technology seem to have something to do with this life essence?” Finn guessed the muscular man wouldn’t specifically mention this if it wasn’t important, although Finn still couldn’t identify what the connection was.

“Yes, to put it simply, the matter is actually quite straightforward.” The muscular man’s expression held a trace of unwillingness as he spoke.
