Chapter 51 Talent of his Fiancee
Once back, he started his teaching immediately.
"Tell me, Mom. What did you learn? And why do you think he failed?" He asked. That was the reason he went there anyway.
Yue Li sat on the bed crosslegged alongside Liyue who had a curious face as she listened on.
During this trip, she had come to know that her fiance was a very educated person. He was knowledgeable about cultivation.
As far as she hard, he only spoke about basic things that anyone could read and understand. But there was this genuine sense of confidence in his words. As if he knew his words were true and absolute.
"Did he fail because he didn\'t let his heart free?" Yue Li asked, curious.
Even the chief didn\'t know the secret after all.
Han Li then looked at Liyue.
For a second, she was confused, but then asked, "Is it because he let the Spark fly too high? It seemed like it was going away from him."
Shaking his head, Han Li said, "I don\'t know for sure but I am sure of one thing. The man was afraid in the whole ordeal even though he seemed calm and casual."
"Afraid?"
"Look at his age. That in itself says he is a very cowardly person," Han Li pointed out, "He could have had his Evolution attempt any day after 18. But the fact that he let it go until 37 makes it obvious he was afraid."
The girls became silent.
It was true. Most people push away Evolution in fear and only when they feel that they might soon near their lifespan\'s end will they attempt it.
But by 50 and such years, it becomes impossible to really achieve Evolution. So usually, people do it at their 35 or some daring ones even during their twenties.
Most didn\'t want to live in pain. It was only natural that many feared the outcome.
Especially when they hear commonly of people their own age, their friends, failing their Evolution. They just push it aside.
"He was even afraid at that precious moment, That\'s an absolute no. That is why I say mental training is a must before you attempt Evolution."
"I am training my mind too?" asked Yue Li in intrigue. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"What do you think training in Knife does to you? If you became an Awakened Master of Knives, your mind will be focused enough to cut a fly as it passed by you by predicting its movements."
That made her pause. She wouldn\'t lie, that seemed slightly cool.
"As for you Liyue, you will also have to choose a weapon and train under me."
Liyue hesitated. She didn\'t really care about Evolving… but she nodded in the end.
"I said it before and I\'ll say it again." He looked straight into their eyes, "If you do what I say, just as I say. Evolution won\'t be that great of a barrier for us. At least, the Ethereal Sparks have it much better in Evolution. Do you know what the Transformation Types have to go through?"
The girls shook their heads.
Han Li smirked, half of his face exposed to the bright sunlight streaming in through the windows."I am telling you, you don\'t want to go through that. If they are of the Raven Clan for example, in their attempt on Evolution, their whole physique changes.
"Their hair gets torn from the scalp and feathers grow out to replace it. Their skin gets torn and then gets replaced with more rougher skin like that of leather. And as all this is going on, they can\'t even faint. If they faint, their disabilities are nothing like that of some Li Yun. They become permanent wastes."
Yue Li and Liyue had their faces gradually go pale.
"Isn\'t the Transformation type\'s Evolution much harsher than the Ethereal… are they that strong?"
"No, they are only just as capable as Ethereals. But Ethereals have an easier path but lower chances. It\'s hard to even figure out how they failed." Ethereal was Ethereal, not many can really understand its rules and functions that easily.
Even Han Li himself would never dare to say he knew what it all meant. He was also just like them, a normal Cultivator. He just had far more experience than them.
If he had to choose one of the two, Transformation or Ethereal as his Evolution, he would go for Transformation. With that, he had some kind of assurance in what he was facing.
But with this one, he couldn\'t really know his enemy. And an unknown Enemy was always more dangerous. So, before his own and his Mother\'s Evolution, he would like to make their chances as high as possible.
He was almost certain that he would not fail. Among the ones who succeded, his mind would always be better. As for his body, it was just average now, but he had plans to train it heavily before ever attempting Evolution.
There was almost nothing that Han Li lacked in comparison to the best Awakened Cultivators to ever exist. But his Mother and Liyue were far from that.
Yue Li certainly had her talent, but her mind was far too unfocused. Liyue was extremely indecisive too.
They were like fluffy clouds. They looked cute and were very hug-worthy. But the cultivation world didn\'t lack clouds.
What they needed to become was sharp metal. But at the same time, Han Li didn\'t want them to lose their innocence.
"From now, this very moment. We begin our training once more," Han Li calmly said, "Mom, you go take your knife and Liyue, For now, just watch. We will go to the weapon shop later and choose your weapon."
And reaching there, Han Li also realized that he hadn\'t checked how talented she was.
"Show me your Spark too."
Liyue opened up her palm and a baby-fist-sized white Starlight Spark lit up on top of it.
Han Li\'s eyelids twitched.
