Chapter 33 Your weapon.
Chapter 33 Your weapon.
Han Li shook his head uncaringly of that fact and said, "We won\'t buy your weapon here, we will just check what suits you and leave. A wooden weapon would be best for training and I will make you one. Let\'s see what suits you best."
Yue Li nodded and both of them went into the store through its expansive entrance. Immediately, a smell of iron, oil, and charcoal came to their sight as they looked around.
It was a big room filled with all sorts of weapons stacked on top of neatly stocked wooden shelves. Swords, Spears, Knife, Machetes, Throwables...and a lot more. And the place also had many people just ogling some weapons like addicts.
Han Li just scanned the weapons briefly and lost interest. Whereas, Yue Li kept looking at them each with different expressions like an excited child.
An elderly male receptionist, dressed in blue attire and wearing a welcoming smile, greeted them. "Hello customers, what might you need? Swords, Clubs, and a stock of any other sharp things you might need. We have it all. Just tell me what you need."
Han Li looked at him and said calmly, "Show me some weapons that suit her size. Start with a spear."
The old merchant cordially smiled and looked at Yue Li who was looking all around and fluttering like a butterfly from one weapon to the other.
\'A whale customer looking to please his younger sister. A nice catch!\' The old man couldn\'t help but rub his hands in his mind.
Many people visited the weaponry and there were many receptionists here. But he, Lan Hai believed himself to have an eye for potential whales — People who actually bought stuff from this damn expensive shop.
"All of the weapons on the 3rd racket are a perfect match for the young miss\' size," He said as he pointed to the side, "Young sir, please follow me."
Han Li silently took Yue Li\'s hands and brought her with him to another area of the shop.
"This sword here is made with steel and has an extremely sharp—"
"You may go, I will check them myself." Han Li interrupted and said calmly.
"But young sir, Professional words ar—"
"Get lost or I\'ll get you kicked off of the job."
Lin Hai gulped and his old face grimaced slightly. \'Youngsters these days are so rude...\'
But if this guy was, it was a big if, but if this guy was a person of renown from one of the three big families, it would really be bad for his career.
He bowed dejectedly and went away for the next customer. There was no need to risk his job for nothing. Yue Li looked at Han Li and found his actions quite extreme, but she knew he was like this sometimes, he had a bad reputation for calling people strange nicknames when he was a child after all.
"...Xiao Li, poor guy...You could\'ve let him stay and tell us about the weapons."
"So that we can ruin his other possible businesses?" He asked, then shook his head.
They had no plan to buy anything anyway and Han Li found such third parties to be quite annoying. Yue Li palmed her face. That\'s true, they were not going to buy anything anyway!
"Okay now, try these weapons one by one," Han Li said as he gently caressed the tip of a sword.
Yue Li didn\'t hesitate and took a beautiful-looking bow on the wall.
"Don\'t take long-range weapons. You are an Ethereal Type cultivator and will surely have long-range powers, what you need is a weapon that makes you strong in short range."
Yue Li frowned and looked at the next weapon. A sword. Her old chuunibyou instincts were screaming at her to take it.
She looked at Han Li with squinted eyes.
"Swords don\'t suit you."
"There is nothing in trying...right?" She asked with cute puppy eyes.
Han Li calmly sighed: "Ignorance and foolishness. Try it if you want."
Yue Li smiled and gently took the hilt of a steel sword, then she wielded it with a serious face.
"Immediate No." Han Li shook his head, he wasn\'t one to joke around in this kind of situation. "Sword is a weapon with two edges, it is a weapon for the determined and headstrong. If an enemy comes at you in offense, you should be able to defend with even better offense. Overall, not something in alignment with your laziness and naivety."
Not that something good out of all that combination was impossible but Swords just weren\'t meant for Yue Li, there were much better options.
Why be stubborn on something impractical?
Yue Li still waved the Sword around a bit more in fodness and then finally took the next weapon, Spear. \'I am going to pierce the heavens!\'
Even she herself almost cracked up as she waved it around.
Han Li looked at her funny antics and shook his head with a smile. "A bit suited for you since it does align with your hope all is good and go ahead attitude. Maybe if you poke enough times it might hit the enemy."
Yue Li was now curious about what he was saying and put the spear down and took a halberd. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Just no. Why would you even take it?"
She put it away and took the war blade.
"Brutal, domineering, and extreme. That\'s what a perfect war blade should be used like, not for you."
"A Rapier just looks lame and like a needle, it is a tool of precision. Absolutely not for you."
"A hammer? Too limiting and strength-oriented..."
"Oh? A knife?" Han Li hesitated on this one. This indeed fitted her quite well and it stood well on her hands.
"Try some more first," Han Li said while taking notes in his mind.
Yue Li then tried weapons like a Machete, Stick, and even Clubs. Han Li liked some of them on her like the big stick but then finally came to a conclusion.
There were only two things that actually suited her. A shield or a dagger.
Shield was good since with that and Rainwater spark, she could become a turtle if she tried hard enough. But it lacked any kind of good physical offense.
Daggers and Knives on the other hand lacked a solid defence. "Anyway, let\'s head back home... Knives and Shields, we now know what you are most suited to. Now it is just a wait to see the results on both to decide on the final one."
Yue Li nodded tiredly. Shields? So dumb!
Knife? She had been using it all the time her life. Why would she need knives? To cut vegetables?
So dull...
Han Li turned around and decided there was no more meaning in spending his precious time here. But abruptly, he froze as he looked at a young woman some distance away who was arguing with a receptionist in a low voice.
He wasn\'t particularly looking at the woman, but at the small mirror in her hand that she was trying to force into the salesman\'s hands.
Unknowingly, Han Li walked closer and listened in; his red eyes sparkling.
...
"Please, This mirror really is made of gold and you should be able to buy it for 120 coins, right?"
"Gold or no gold has no value for us. Young Miss," said a young receptionist, a pretty-looking female with rouge all over her face: "The problem is even if we resell it, we would only get 80 coins. If it had a gem or something, sure but with only gold..."
The young woman clenched her hands around the mirror. She had to sell this at that price or it won\'t be enough for her rent in Southern Lust City. Suddenly, a hand gently took hold of her hands. "What is a fair lady like you doing here arguing her time away for?" A calm and serene voice asked.
Mei Liang looked to the side in a bit of shock at the sudden holding of her hand and immediately a pair of overbearing red eyes came to her sight.
The pretty female receptionist smiled like a flower but Han Li didn\'t even glance to her side and looked at Mei Liang with a smile.
"..." She silently looked at her hands and thought for a second, \'Is this some young master who is about to show his face by giving a beauty some money? Wow, guess it\'s my jackpot day.\'
Now she won\'t have to spend her savings to pay the rent.
She smiled awkwardly and greeted Han Li with an obviously feigned smile. "He..hello..uhm.. young master?"
"You can call me that." Han Li graciously smiled, and asked elegantly, "Is that beautiful mirror by any chance for sale? I would like to buy it."
The receptionist felt she was being ignored too much and pitched in. "Yes, young master, she was about to sell it just now!"
Yue Li looked at Han Li\'s performance from the side in amazement. Damn good! But what was he trying? To get this girl too? She was quite confused.
Mei Ling took a deep breath and said, "Yes, it\'s for sale."
Han Li didn\'t leave her hands and asked, "May I ask the price?"
"1...150 coins young master." She hoped he didn\'t hear them earlier.
"Little sister, take the money and give it to her," Han Li took the mirror from the girl without letting her even know it and said to his mother.
Yue Li was confused by the way of address but still took the amount of golden pearls from the side bag and placed it on the table.
Han Li looked into Mei Ling\'s eyes and cordially nodded before taking Yue Li\'s hands and walking out of the store.
The people who dealt with him were left with curious questions of who this generous young man was.
As for Han Li, he moved fast while glancing around in expectation of a possible encounter with that Low-level Raven clan cultivator or his lackey. But he didn\'t end up seeing them and soon, he was back in the Starlight Zone and in his home.
Yue Li curiously asked, "Why did you get that mirror? You like that girl?"
Isn\'t it too fast even if he wanted a harem? Was he seeing women like Pokemon or something?
Han Li shook his head. "That girl is from the brothels... I don\'t want to associate with that brothel if it\'s unnecessary. Their roots are too deep for the current us to be associated with them without any harm."
Yue Li looked at the gold-framed mirror in his hand. "Then is it for the mirror? Even the gold shop won\'t buy it for more than 80 coins..."
Han Li got seated on his bed and looked into the mirror, at his appearance.
"This is no ordinary mirror. Even though it is quite a surprise it was here... Well, it\'s not very useful for you at the moment but it might be useful for me."
"Is this some kind of special mirror,?" Yue Li\'s eyes shined.
"Heart Reflection Mirror, it is a tool that appears in Sacred Lust every century. You would be considered extremely lucky if you could hold it once in your life. It would vanish after one use and then return after a century somehow. It\'s an intriguing tool. There are only a total of one hundred thousand of these mirrors in the whole continent."
"What does it do?" Yue Li was so excited and eager she didn\'t even bother questioning his mysterious attitude anymore.
Han Li looked at the mirror calmly. "It does nothing much, it does what it says, it can reflect your heart."
What the hell does that mean? Yue Li pouted.
"Whatever, why did you call me little sister then?" Yue Li asked.
