Chapter 1540: Ancient Glorious City(11)
"If you want anything else, please press the button." The waiter left after informing the three of them.
Aakesh didn\'t eat the fruit cake but simply stared at it. "Should I eat it?" Khaval asked since he liked sweet dishes.
Aakesh nodded and pushed the plate toward him. A wide smile spread across Khaval\'s face, and he immediately took a large bite.
"Blergh!"
Khaval puked the bite immediately after since it had no taste at all. He pressed the button angrily, and the waiter immediately rushed to their table.
"Why is it so bland?" Khaval angrily asked.
Aakesh looked calm since energy invaded Khaval\'s blood when he took the bite. But since his bloodline had parts of Aakesh\'s blood, the energy immediately returned.
Aakesh understood that the taste of the dishes came from the eater\'s body. If the energy ate Khaval\'s blood, he would taste the sweetness of the fruit. But since nothing of that sort happened, it was bland.
The waiter frowned when he heard Khaval. He immediately requested to try the dish to see whether the complaint was reliable.
The waiter frowned when he heard Khaval. He immediately requested to try the dish to see whether the complaint was reliable.
Khaval nodded and pushed the cake toward him. The waiter took a small bite, and a pleasured expression spread across his face.
"Sir, I won\'t accept false complaints." The waiter frowned since he could taste the sweetness of the cake.
"I want to pay the bill," Aakesh said.
The waiter nodded and then asked for Aakesh to follow him. He reached the bill counter and informed the man on the other side of the counter.
"You need to pay three hundred supreme Sacred stones."
The three frowned when they heard the price, and Lily wanted to say something, but Aakesh stopped her and told her to simply pay. He only had purer, supreme Sacred stones, which were way higher than the asked price.
Lily didn\'t refuse Aakesh and immediately paid for the dish. The three of them then left the restaurant.
Lily scowled in frustration after stepping out of the building.
"Khaval, check the change in your energy," Aakesh commented.
Khaval nodded, and a shocked expression appeared on his face following that. He was already close to the limit of the peak Divine Lord, but now that proximity had disappeared. He could step into the next level anytime he wanted.
"The dish was harmful for weak cultivators but beneficial for you who could handle the energy," Aakesh stated.
He had kept [Energy Overseer] active since he stepped into the restaurant, so he noticed that not long after the bite, Khaval\'s cultivation grew.
"My cake," Khaval scowled since he hadn\'t even taken a full bite of the cake. He had spit it out immediately, but even that small portion was more than enough.
Lily also stopped acting frustrated and calmed down. She then angrily looked at Khaval and tapped on his head.
"Can\'t you eat things without complaining," Lily reprimanded Khaval for wasting the fruit cake and her money.
Khaval looked at Aakesh, who, in turn, playfully tapped on his head.
"Are you confident of the breakthrough?"
Khaval wanted to cry, but before he could, Aakesh asked.
Khaval immediately stopped caring about the cake and Lily and thought seriously about what Aakesh asked. After a few moments of thinking, he received his answer.
Around an hour later, Khaval had stepped into the True God level, making the team of three even stronger.
Khaval then turned around and looked at the building. He thought of entering once again but was blocked by an invisible barrier, so he stopped. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Aakesh understood that the building was only a one-time entry for the people. Those who survived would leave with great rewards, and for those who didn\'t survive, there was nothing to worry about them.
There were still several hours left before the night would come to an end in Thorr City, so Aakesh decided to continue his adventure. He could see no end to the buildings across the street.
He decided to try some buildings and then travel around the city to find its mystery. The three of them stepped inside the next building, and a new scene appeared before them.
Time flew by, and hours passed in a flash.
The three of them had been inside several buildings across both sides of the street and had come against different challenges. There was no dangerous challenge like the theater again, but fortunate challenges appeared more than three times.
The last challenge they faced was a simple one where the three needed to climb as many buildings as they could. The one with the highest climb would win an item.
Lily won the challenge since Aakesh didn\'t show much interest in that. Khaval persisted till last, but Lily seemed to have the greater stamina, so she climbed one extra floor. Fortunately for Khaval, the winning item was nothing worth fighting over, so he didn\'t mind losing.
"I want to look around the city," Lily suddenly commented since she had gotten bored of entering one building after another. Khaval also had the same idea, so he nodded, and then the two of them looked at Aakesh.
They were bored, but if Aakesh refused, they would happily keep entering and exiting buildings for as long as he wanted.
"You can leave, but remember to return to the building when I enter tomorrow," Aakesh responded.
He wasn\'t bored but became interested in clearing one challenge after another. Until now, he hadn\'t faced an extremely difficult challenge. Even the theater one wasn\'t challenging; it was just that it simply resulted in death, so escaping was difficult.
The two nodded since they had expected a response like that from Aakesh.
"Let\'s meet tomorrow," Lily said and then left with Khaval walking beside her. The two had grown to a size of fifteen feet.
Khaval couldn\'t expand into his original size since that was hundreds of thousands of miles long even at that level, while Lily expanded to a bigger size to match Khaval\'s.
The smile on Aakesh\'s face disappeared after the two left for their own adventures. His usual indifferent expression reappeared, and he looked at the next building.
A few steps later, he reached the entry and then immediately stepped inside.
