Chapter 523: A Mature Man
Chapter 523: A Mature Man
Landscape Compound was situated close to sea, yet due to being on the outskirts, only few visitors could be seen near the seaside.
The environment there was very pleasant, with the sun shining and fresh air all around, so Shangguan Ning took Jing Rui for a walk along the seaside.
Jing Rui was one month old and was growing fast. He ate and slept and barely made any noise, which saved Shangguan Ning a great deal of trouble.
Most of the time, she took care of her son by herself whilst the nanny was just helping around. Today when she was out with her son, she had no nanny or any servants alongside, except for Lee Duo and Knife Lee as well as the baby’s father.
Dressed in a brown colored casual outfit, Jing Yichen was pushing the stroller next to Shangguan Ning.
Shangguan Ning had Jing Rui in her arms, talking with her son who understood nothing but greeted her with a smile.
“Now we are out for fun. Are you happy, Ruirui? See, mom is out of home, finally. You are happy to be out as well, right? Ruirui, grow up fast and then you can come out for fun all by yourself. You can dig the sand, pick the shells and catch the small crabs like other older boys!”
Jing Rui had no idea what his mother was talking about. But that did not stop him from feeling the same happiness as his mother. So he smiled brightly.
Since he was still very young, Shangguan Ning had put on many clothes on him as well as a lovely hat. He was tightly wrapped and kept feeling uncomfortable. He kept stretching arms and legs.
Shangguan Ning walked forward and pampered him patiently.
Her attention was fully upon her son and did not realize that someone was staring at her at that time.
But even if Shangguan Ning did not, Jing Yichen did.
The man was tall and dressed in a brown sportswear. He was wearing a cap, a pair of sunglasses, a large mask and was even more covered than Jing Rui. Apparently, he was not supposed to be seen.
Jing Yichen’s pupils contracted and he looked away from the man, focussing upon his wife and son.
No one could hurt his family as long as he was here.
Shangguan Ning did not dare stay out for too long, fearing that Jing Rui would feel cold. They went home after an hour.
But one hour outside home made her feel fresh. She had stayed home for more than one month and now was finally able to go out.
She sat by Jing Rui’s bed and sang for him, making the home become lively and happy.
Leaning against the door, Jing Yichen felt extremely satisfied while watching his beautiful wife as well as the lively son.
He was going to remove all the barriers and potential danger so that his wife and son could go out for fun whenever they wanted.
At night, when Shangguan Ning was asleep, Jing Yichen kissed her softly on the lips and got dressed.
He walked out of their bedroom and entered the baby’s room.
After Shangguan Ning finished the first-month’s confinement period, Jing Rui was moved into his own room along with the nanny.
The nanny did not sleep deeply. The moment Jing Yichen came in, she woke up.
Jing Yichen waved at her, suggesting that she should continue to sleep. Then he came to his son’s cot and smiled as he saw Jing Rui sleeping in a very cute way.
He held his son’s chubby, white hand, and kissed it. Tucking him into the blanket, he walked out of the bedroom.
After they entered the elevator, Tiger said with a low voice, “Master, Second Master is back!”
Jing Yichen nodded. “Okay.”
If he was right, the tall man under a cap by the seaside was none other than Jing Yiran.
He was bold, wasn’t he? He even dared to show up in front of him again.
If he could kill Jing Yiran once, then he could kill him again.
“Our men have been keeping eyes on him. He is sitting by the seaside, probably waiting for you.”
Tiger hesitated before uttering the last few words.
He truly had no idea why Jing Yiran would come to the man who hated him most.
Could he not have known that the Master would never spare his life?
Jing Yichen also wondered about Jing Yiran’s behavior.
It was not like him to come and deliver his own life. He was best at pulling tricks behind people’s back.
“Go and check it out. Maybe he has some backup.”
Jing Yichen sounded poised and confident.
Wind blew heavily at the seaside that night. On the cold beach, Jing Yiran was the only person seated there and nearly blended in with the dark night.
Jing Yichen approached him slowly, and Tiger followed him behind closely.
Ever since Jing Yichen was almost killed by the killer hired by the Yang Family, Tiger had been following Jing Yichen closely. No matter where he went, Tiger would always be by his side. If he was tied up with something else and failed to be present, Lee Duo would act as his replacement.
Tiger was definitely not going to let Jing Yichen meet Jing Yiran alone. He was obviously very dangerous.
Jing Yiran stood up and turned to look back when he heard footsteps approaching.
As Jing Yichen approached him, he said calmly, “I have been waiting for a long time.”
It was said that after a near-death experience, one’s personality could change tremendously. As Jing Yichen observed Jing Yiran’s look and the way he talked, he found that the saying did turn out to be true.
Jing Yiran looked scarily pale against the moonlight. Obviously, he had not recovered fully after taking the bullet.
But that was not the important thing. The key thing was that he was not reacting reckless and impudent any more.
In one month, Jing Yiran had turned steady.
Jing Yichen frowned. This was not what he expected to see.
Because it meant that his rival had turned stronger, and was becoming mature.
But Jing Yichen did not care much about it. He was confident that he could deal with Jing Yiran even now.
“The best thing you can do right now is to hide your real identity, find a place where no one knows you and live an ordinary life. You are only courting death by returning here.”
Jing Yichen had killed Jing Yiran once, and even if he failed to die, he had taken the revenge. He did not have that strong a desire of killing him right now.
Another reason was that he could feel that Jing Yiran was not as fierce as before.
