Chapter 353: In Coma (Part Two)

Chapter 353: In Coma (Part Two)

Mo Lan had not expected that her husband who had been always so healthy would spit out blood and pass out. She got startled before throwing herself at him as she called out to him, “My old man...”

The doctor arrived quickly. Half an hour later, Jing Yichen reached there with Shangguan Ning. An hour later, Jing Zhongxiu reached Family Jing by the helicopter which Jing Yichen had sent to the outskirts of A City after Jing Zhongxiu landed back from the UK.

Two hours had passed, but Jing Tianyuan was still not awake.

Jing Yichen looked extremely cold. He turned to the Butler. “Uncle Lu, get Grandpa Mu here with the helicopter. Take the two doctors and let them tell the situation of grandpa to him so that he could bring along whatever is needed.”

The Butler nodded and showed the guilty-looking doctors out. The doctors were highly paid at Family Jing but couldn’t give any help at the most crucial moment and make the old lord wake up. They felt very guilty.

In the bedroom, Jing Tianyuan was lying in the bed, looking extremely pale.

He had always been in such good health that he never looked like a man in his 70s or 80s. But when he passed out all of a sudden, he immediately started looking ten years older like a stiff old man.

Mo Lan looked dumbfounded sitting by his bedside, placing her hands over Jing Tianyuan’s.

Jing Zhongxiu and Jing Yichen were standing there frozen, just like two sculptures.

Shangguan Ning was holding Jing Yichen’s hand standing next to him.

His hand felt cold and stiff. The warmth he usually had was no longer there.

Shangguan Ning knew that Jing Yichen must be feeling furious and sad. But he never showed in front of others how he felt.

Jing Zhongxiu felt very bad as well.

He had just landed from the UK and was picked up by the helicopter, immediately. Jing Yichen would not have sent the helicopter to pick him up if it had not been something urgent.

Jing Tianyuan had fallen into coma because of Mo Lan, so Jing Zhongxiu and Jing Yichen couldn’t utter a word and suppressed their anger.

“Yichen, dad, grandpa will be fine.” It was getting more and more silent and scary in the room as if something would break any minute. Shangguan Ning spoke, trying to release the horrible atmosphere in bedroom.

Jing Tianyuan was already in coma and Mo Lan needed to stay strong. They mustn’t blame her for anything, because she must be feeling upset right now.

“Grandpa Mu is a legendary doctor and grandpa has always been healthy. He is just a little bit anxious this time. Grandpa Mu would definitely cure him.”

Shangguan Ning’s soft voice arose in the bedroom, reducing the tension.

Jing Yichen took hold of her hand tightly and said once again after a moment of silence. “Dad, grandpa will be fine. Please go and rest. Me and Ning will be guarding him here.”

Jing Zhongxiu had been making preparations for their wedding because of which he had to deal with many matters and people. Everything he did had something to do with the inheritance of the future. Since Jing Yichen had not yet taken over the resources in the UK, he had no right to get involved.

Jing Zhongxiu was tired, but he didn’t want to leave.

He had been away for a week and when he returned, he found his father in this state. He was both agonized and furious inside his heart. He had always had a much closer relationship with his father than with Mo Lan, because he had always been by Jing Tianyuan’s side, learning everything from him. Mo Lan was far less devoted to him than Jing Tianyuan was.

After Jing Tianyuan got older, their relationship became deeper, because Jing Tianyuan was no longer that strict compared to early times and Jing Zhongxiu, who had also become a father, understood all the things which his father had done to him. He understood a father’s love, heavy and full of expectations.

He respected, understood and loved his father.

His father had joked that if Jing Yichen couldn’t be a good heir of Family Jing, he should just go home and father a son, so that he could breed a new heir when he was still alive.

Nothing could happen to him when his great-grandson was yet to be born!

“No need, I will stay here. Your grandpa will wake up soon and I am waiting for that moment to come.”

Jing Zhongxiu looked very tired, but he sounded determined.

He sat down on the sofa in the bedroom and asked Jing Yichen and Shangguan Ning to take a seat as well.

When they were both seated, he spoke once again. “Mom, go and take some rest. We are here, and when he is awake, I will inform you.” He hadn’t called Mo Lan “mom” for a very long time, so the way he said it now turned out to be strange.

Shangguan Ning understood the tone. Jing Zhongxiu sounded distant and he was trying hard to press down his anger.

Mo Lan was still dumbfounded and didn’t move an inch. She didn’t seem to have heard what Jing Zhongxiu said.

Jing Zhongxiu glanced at her and said no more.

The servants came and served a bowl of ginseng tea to each of them before retiring quietly. The Butler had asked them to do so, because no one had eaten or was willing to eat anything. A bowl of ginseng tea could at least boost up the energy a bit.

The Butler was not in the bedroom. After he made sure that the helicopter had been sent to pick up Mu Wensheng, he had been waiting outside the house. He felt terrible when the Old Lord was in coma. But he had to stay calm and instruct the servants to boil the tea and ensure the security.

He had no appetite to eat anything himself , but when the servant gave him the ginseng tea, he forced himself to drink it up.

As the sound of shoes on the floor arose in the living room, the Butler looked up.

Jing Yiran had just returned from outside. As he approached, the Butler could smell the alcohol on him.

The Butler stared at him.

His hair was waxed and neatly trimmed. He was dressed in a date-red colored suit and his leather shoes were shiny. He smelled of cigarettes and alcohol as well as different female perfumes.

After Jing Tianyuan had passed out, the Butler immediately called Jing Yichen who was the backbone and the elder grandson of Family Jing.

The Butler had thought for a long while before calling Jing Yiran. After all, he was also his grandson and even if old lord had fainted because of him, he was informed to come home right away.

But Jing Yiran didn’t answer any of the calls the Butler made to him. Therefore, he had to send him a text in which he recounted the incident briefly.

Two hours later, the Second Master came home from some nightclub.
